PRESCOTT MEDICINE
We are only adding new patients to our practice when established patients leave the practice. You are welcome to call to see if there are openings on the waiting list.
Dr. Tracy Smith graduated from medical school at the University of Oklahoma in 1994, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa in 1997. Dr. Smith has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 1997.
He spent 4 years practicing medicine with the U.S. Air Force, then joined the staff at St John Medical Center in Tulsa from 2001-2021.
He and his wife LaNette have called Prescott home since 2021. They greatly enjoy the high desert scenery and the wonderful people of Prescott.
They attend church at Heights church and spend their free time working in the yard, playing with their dogs and taking care of their chickens and turkeys.
Direct Primary Care is a revolutionary way to provide patient care without billing the insurance company for the visits. It eliminates the need for the office to have multiple employees who spend all day dealing with the insurance company rules and roadblocks. It allows us to care directly for our patients, and cut out the middleman who would stand between the doctor and patient. This ultimately allows your physician to cut costs and pass those savings on to you while providing a personalized care experience.
Becoming a member is very straightforward and simple. There is a membership fee paid by the patient, monthly or yearly. No contracts, no gimmicks. This membership gives you virtually 24/7 access to Dr. Smith through email, text and in case of emergency, phone calls. There are no additional fees for office visits, no co-pays and no charges to an insurance company.

We will address most new health problems on the same day or next day that you call. In addition, the doctor will discuss all medical questions, concerns, and results directly with you.
You will have access to an unlimited number of office visits, at no additional cost. Our schedule will have openings available, so that we won’t have to send you to Urgent Care.
Your doctor will give you the results of all labs, x-rays, or other tests within 24 hours of the results coming to us. The office staff will handle non-medical issues such as scheduling, billing, refills, etc.

You're considered an active member as long as your membership fee is current. There are no contracts, and you can cancel your membership anytime. If you decide to re-enroll, there will be a re-enrollment fee equal to one additional month's membership fee.
This will take a few minutes to complete, as the questionnaire requests your medical problems, past surgeries, medication list, allergies, etc. Do the best you can, but don't stress too much about it.
We have to build a new medical chart for you, and what you complete today will expedite the process. We can review previous records and discuss further with you to fill in the gaps at your first appointment in our office.
During the enrollment process in the link below, when you get to the billing section, if you want the discounted rate for paying annually, you need to choose "yearly" billing instead of "monthly".
In order to sign up as a couple, and receive the discounted rate, after the first person registers, BEFORE clicking on "Finalize enrollment", there is an option to "Add a patient". If you do this, you will be grouped in the system as a couple. The second person in the couple will enter their medical data in that section.
Also, it would be best if each person used a separate email address and phone number. This will allow any messages sent to us to go into the correct medical record. If this is not possible, then you can use the same email address or phone number.
Please reach us at contact@prescottmedicine.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Your DPC membership is not an insurance plan; you'll still need insurance if you have a major health problem.
If you have many health problems, and are seeing specialist doctors regularly, then use your current insurance for those specialist doctor visits and the tests that they order.
However, if you have good health and are not seeing specialists, you may be able to save money on your insurance! Since all routine care is covered by your membership, you can switch to a "high-deductible" health plan that costs less per month.
Absolutely! However, you can't use Medicare to pay for the services provided by Prescott Medicine. You will have to pay for the membership yourself. We do not bill Medicare for your office visits, and Medicare prohibits you from filing a claim to try to get Medicare to reimburse you for the amount of your subscription fees or any other services provided by Prescott Medicine.
It requires a large amount of time and several employees to submit claims to commercial insurance companies, deal with their policies and red tape, and then deal with the resulting issues when they refuse to pay a claim. Even more time and employees are required to submit all of the paperwork (both patient billing and additional required clinic data) to Medicare to receive proper payment and approval. This is where the "secret sauce" of Direct Primary Care comes into play. Because we are able to reduce our costs so drastically, we pass those savings on to you, while giving you a better care experience, with your own personal doctor.
In the emergency room, the ER doctor will provide care. If you are admitted to the hospital, the "hospitalist" doctor will provide your care. Dr. Smith will always be available to discuss your medical issues with the hospital team. Dr Smith will want to see you within a few days of discharge from the hospital.
